$2 Childcare: Taking an evening class at the Alexander Hughes Community Center and need childcare? Our friendly staff will provide space and activities for your child to engage in while you enjoy your class. Childcare is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6-9 pm in the Eucalyptus room for children 5 and up. Please be sure to pay and sign your child in and out every time you participate. Childcare begins Dec 2.

The existing wireless telecommunications industry is ever expanding and many Claremont residents have voiced the need for improvements/better coverage. In response to this growing concern, the City Council directed that the City's existing wireless regulations be updated. The revised ordinance and its associated draft Negative Declaration are accessible below. The Planning Commission will review the attached documents on Tuesday December 2, 2008 and will make a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will consider the amendment and Draft Negative Declaration on Tuesday January 13, 2009. Both meetings will be held in the Council Chamber located at 225 W. With the holidays fast approaching, the City of Claremont invites everyone to the Holiday Promenade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 5, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a magnificent tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Claremont Depot located at 200 West First Street. The evening will be filled with live music, festive storefronts, and more. The Claremont Village, the area's ultimate shopping destination, will transform into a holiday wonderland, where the young and young at heart can enjoy the festivities. The Holiday Promenade will include live entertainment from the Claremont High School Chamber Singers, the upbeat sounds of Swing 4 Sale, the musical jingles of Hai Muradian and friends, and caroling along the streets.
Children can take a FREE ride on the Holiday Express Train around the historic Claremont Depot; jump on the trolley and head over to the Public Plaza for more great entertainment. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera to take a priceless photo of their little one with Santa Claus at the Packing House located at 532 West First Street, from 5 -6 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.For more information about the City of Claremont's Holiday Promenade, call the Hughes Community Center at (909) 399-5490.
The Red Flag conditions have been changed to Yellow Flag conditions, and the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park has been reopened.
Applications are currently being accepted to fill a vacancy on the City of Claremont Human Services Commission. Persons interested in being considered for appointment are encouraged to file an application with the City Clerk's office by Monday, December 1, 2008.
Commissioners are appointed by the City Council based on the results of the application reviews and personal interviews. It is the council's goal to appoint individuals who reflect the diversity of the community.
